Watch Viral Video of Delhi Family Attacked Near Goa Beach, 4 Arrested

A family from Delhi visiting Goa in early March has accused locals in the Anjuna area of attacking them with swords and knives, resulting in at least one serious injury. Four people have been arrested and charged with attempted murder by the Goa police, while a preliminary investigation has been initiated against the investigating officer following allegations from the victims that the police were lenient on the attackers.

The attack occurred at around 5 pm on March 5, when the "gang residents" of Anjuna assaulted 47-year-old Ashwini Kumar Chandrani and his family members with fists, kicks, belts, baseball bats, and knives, causing them injuries. The family filed a complaint against one Roshan and other unknown individuals, with Roshan being the main accused and a receptionist at the resort.

The Anjuna Police invoked section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, which is related to attempted murder, after discovering that the assault involved weapons aimed at vital parts of the body. Through CCTV footage, the police identified the accused and arrested Royston Reginaldo Dias, Nyron Reginaldo Dias, Joseph Alex Lobo, and Kashinath Vishvor Agarqadekae, all of whom are residents of Anjuna. They are still searching for others involved in the attack.

A video of the attack was shared on Instagram by Jatin Sharma, which shows a group of people attacking him and his family with swords and knives. According to a woman in another video, the family had a small altercation with the resort staff, which they reported to the manager. After the staff allegedly called their accomplices, they attacked the family with weapons outside the resort.
